Sebastian Wypych, double bass player, producer, artistic director, was born in 1977 in Warsaw. In 1996 he graduated from the Karol Szymanowski State School of Music and won first prize at the National Hearings of Cello and Double Bass Class in Elbląg. He has won numerous other competitions throughout his illustrious career. He is also a graduate of the Fryderyk Chopin Music Academy. As a soloist, he has performed with the Concerto Avenna, Small Philharmonic, Sinfonietta Cracovia, Vladimir Chamber Orchestra, and the Warsaw Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, to name just a few. Sebastian is widely regarded as one of the finest bass players in Poland. He is the founder of many renowned ensembles including the New Art Ensemble and the Tangata Quintet and he is artistic director for many prestigious festivals throughout Poland.
